Hit and Run Injures Five in Oceanside

No one ever wants to be involved in an accident, especially if they’re the responsible party. But it’s important to make sure this never means you flee the scene of a crime in the wake of said accident. Doing so doesn’t just mean you’ll face much worse consequences down the road; it could also mean you’re potentially leaving victims to suffer greater pain and injuries.

Unfortunately, those who commit hit-and-runs often escape without every facing repercussions for what they did. As of right now, that’s the scenario playing out in Oceanside after a hit-and-run that occurred over the weekend. The driver of a white four-dour probably didn’t incur much damage to their vehicle, meaning they may never get brought to justice despite the harm they dealt out to others.

It was around 2:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. A vehicle was turning right from Frazee Road onto the freeway when the sedan in question came up from behind it. Apparently, the car was going so fast that it clipped the vehicle making the turn. This contact was enough to force it to overturn several times before slamming into another vehicle that was headed west on Route 76.

In total, five people were hurt. The two men in the overturned car weren’t facing life-threatening injuries, but they were in bad enough shape that they had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital.

The driver who caused the accident was apparently able to continue on the road without slowing down much at all. A witness was the last to see the car heading west down Route 76. If you have any information that could help lead to an arrest, contact the California Highway Patrol immediately.

Knowing you’ll have proper legal representation after a crash occurs can make it much easier to face the consequences. Nonetheless, there is absolutely no excuse to ever leave the scene of an accident you caused.
