Insurance Companies Struggle to Address Mold Claims

Mold-related claims are becoming increasingly problematic for the insurance industry. Mold litigation is on the rise, and as more and more cases develop insurance companies have responded by modifying their policies and claims-handling procedures. Most states have now passed legislation permitting insurance providers to exclude mold from coverage. Many homeowners and smaller contractors are finding it prohibitively expensive to obtain mold coverage, if they are able to at all.
