San Diego and the surrounding area are crisscrossed with roadways and generally covered with cars at any given point in the day. Unfortunately, this means that auto accidents aren’t an incredibly rare thing here. As such, you need to make sure you always practice safe driving. It also makes a lot of sense to have the contact information for a qualified attorney on hand at all times. An auto accident may happen in a matter of seconds, but its effects can last a lifetime if you’re not careful.
Sadly, there was recently an accident in El Centro with the most permanent of consequences. Although 7 people were involved, it was an 11-year old girl who lost her life. The accident happened last Saturday morning. Despite the many highways all over the area, the two-car crash actually occurred in a rural part of El Centro.
At this time, the young girl has not been identified. We know that she was from Burbank, but for now, the entire incident is still being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
They have, however, identified the driver as Miguel Angel Ibarra, 20, who is also from Burbank. His injuries were bad enough that he was rushed to El Centro Regional Medical Center in the aftermath of the accident.
When the accident happened, at roughly 9:45 am, Ibarra was traveling south on Forrester Road. It was then that he tried to pass traffic and struck a Mercedes SUV going the other way. The five passengers in that vehicle sustained moderate to serious injuries and were taken to hospitals in San Diego and El Centro for treatment.
Obviously, it’s a tragedy that this poor little girl lost her life, but it’s still important to take lessons from this accident. If you ever find yourself in a situation like this one, having an attorney you can call will make a huge difference.
