Crash in Orange County Leaves Four Hospitalized

Accidents can happen inside a restaurant, but fortunately, they usually have more to do with the food, spills or maybe just a patron who has had too much to drink. For four people in Laguna Hills on Monday, September 22nd, their experience in a restaurant involved a car accident.

An 88-year-old woman, who has not yet been identified, was driving through Laguna Hills when the accident occurred. Unfortunately, she was driving during the lunch rush hour, meaning the restaurant was full of customers.

Investigators don’t yet know what caused the driver to veer off the road and into the restaurant. However, once the sedan crashed into Polly’s Pies, four people were injured. Two diners are believed to have suffered only minor injuries.

However, two of the patrons were taken to the hospital with far worse issues. An 88-year-old woman was being cared for due to serious head trauma she had suffered. A 68-year-old man also needed medical attention because of an injury he suffered to his back. There have been no further reports regarding the status of those who were injured.

The driver also needed to be taken to the hospital. However, her leg injuries were only considered minor. Her current status is also unknown, though there seemed to be no reason to think she wouldn’t recover fully.

As we mentioned, investigators don’t yet know what caused the accident. However, it would be a good idea for the woman who was behind the wheel to speak to a qualified attorney as fast as possible. There could be any number of reasons she wouldn’t be held responsible for the accident, but it’s not a risk worth taking. Qualified legal representation will ensure she stands the best chance of getting a fair trial if anything comes up. It will also help her defend against any number of lawsuits that could be levied at her in the wake of this accident.
